How to use a pizza stone

Place the pizza stone in the oven in a  lower but not the lowest rack. Remove any other racks from the oven. Heat the oven with the pizza stone inside the oven to the desired temperature. While the stone heats, make your pizza on a peel or on the back of a baking sheet covered in cornmeal so the pizza can move freely. Transfer the pizza to the hot stone and bake for the amount of time indicated for your recipe. When the pizza is done you may want to tranfer it to a cutting board or a large plate so it doesn’t continue to cook on the hot stone and burn.
